Purchased this CD several years ago when it was 1st released. Fell in love with it immediately. Russell Johnsons' tenor voice and the instrumental virtuosity of the remaining band members really hits home. Their version of Flatt & Scruggs' "He took your place" is so good you'll be hitting the 'repeat' button often to take it in "just one more time"!The original tune "You put the fun back" is such a wonderful song; it too will bear repeated listenings. All of the songs are wonderfully recorded with help from Lonesome River Bands' Sammy Shelor as producer.The music is so magnificently recorded you wonder why this band ever dissolved? Pity! However Russell Johnson lives on in the Grascats and more will be heard from him there and possibly in other carnations. I hope the other guys in New Vintage are still playing 'cause they were sure talented. The dobro player has definitely GOT to be playing for someone , as good as he was/is! Good singer too as he does a splendid vocal job "You'll just have to find another man". This CD is well worth the money! And then some!
